Eric R. Kandel
Eric R. Kandel is an Austrian-American neuroscientist who won the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on the physiological basis of memory storage in neurons. His research on synaptic plasticity in the sea slug Aplysia illuminated the molecular mechanisms of learning and memory.
