Ginkgo biloba is promoted for memory and circulation. Large, well-conducted trials (including the GEM study) found it does not prevent dementia or cognitive decline, and benefits in healthy people are not supported; there may be small symptomatic effects in existing dementia. It can increase bleeding risk, particularly with anticoagulants.
